Box Elder has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Viewmont Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Box Elder came up short against the Wildcats and fell 65-58.
Elijah Kersey put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 29 points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Isaacson, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Viewmont unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 91-72 bruising from Bountiful. Viewmont has not had much luck with the RedHawks recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Box Elder's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Viewmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
Box Elder was able to grind out a solid win over the Vikings in their previous matchup back in January, winning 73-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Box Elder since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
