Twiggs County is 0-6 against Hawkinsville since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Twiggs County Cobras have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Hawkinsville Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Wednesday, Twiggs County came up short against Hancock Central and fell 35-28.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Hawkinsville, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-33 loss to Chattahoochee County on Tuesday.
The losing side was boosted by Sequoyah Whitehead, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Twiggs County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Hawkinsville, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.
Twiggs County was dealt a bruising 71-15 defeat at the hands of Hawkinsville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Twiggs County was down 47-10.
