There's no place like home for the North Sanpete Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 54-49 win over Delta on Wednesday. For North Sanpete, this counts as revenge for the 62-56 loss the Rabbits walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Leading North Sanpete to victory were Dimick Huntington and Ridge Hendry. Huntington scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Hendry scored 20 points along with two blocks. Hendry hasn't dropped below 20 points for three straight games. Cole Cook was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Several Rabbits players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cai Henderson, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Henderson has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Chase, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
North Sanpete's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Delta, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.
North Sanpete will take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Richfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday. As for Delta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wasps at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
