The Midd-West Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 66-55 to Montoursville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Midd-West in their matchups with Montoursville: they've now lost eight in a row.
Noah Romig and Garrett Leitzel certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Romig scored 24 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Leitzel scored 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Ferster, who scored three points along with eight rebounds.
Midd-West's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Montoursville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Midd-West will head out on the road to face off against Lewisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Montoursville, they will be playing at home against Mifflinburg at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mifflinburg is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
