Baseball Recap: Landon Extends Winning Streak to Three

Landon entered their tilt with Bullis on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Manny Monsalve, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Zach Burstein was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Landon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Landon's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Bullis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, Landon will challenge Our Lady of Good Counsel at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bullis will be paying especially close attention to the Bears' contest: after the Bears faces off against the Falcons, they'll take on Bullis again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
