Basketball Game Preview: North Eagles vs. Williston-Elko Blue Devils

North has gone 10-0 against Williston-Elko recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The North Eagles will head out to take on the Williston-Elko Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. North knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Williston-Elko likes a good challenge.

North is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Hunter-Kinard-Tyler just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to the Trojans. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 15-11 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, North got top-tier performance from Stetson Stacks, who posted 28 points along with eight steals and five boards. The game was Stacks' 16th in a row with at least ten points. Ashton Jamison was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

Even though they lost, North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Williston-Elko came up short against Calhoun County last Friday and fell 56-49.

North's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-9. As for Williston-Elko, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

North strolled past Williston-Elko in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 76-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for North since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
