Summit Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past San Juan 74-42 at home. With that victory, Summit Academy brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Avery Backus was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, ten assists, and 13 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Summit Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Regan Georgeson, who shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, American Heritage beat Merit Preparatory Academy 43-35 on Monday. The team accrued 32 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Summit Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for American Heritage, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
