The Brewer Bears came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 51-45 victory over Aledo. Given Brewer's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Aledo is ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Julian Perez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rayanne Lomboto, who scored six points along with four steals and two blocks.
Brewer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. As for Aledo, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Azle the next time they take the court. Aledo will head out to face Azle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Brewer will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
