It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Stanwood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Oak Harbor Wildcats as they made off with a 21-14 win. Addison Anderson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off five runs, four doubles, and three RBI while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances. Those four doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rubi Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Taylor Almanza also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Stanwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
