Deltona got a great performance from Mason Draper as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Draper also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Wolves are 6-3 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-11 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Jay Albizu was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Winter Springs came tearing into Tuesday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Eagles 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Aiden Smarrito tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Alex Dameron and Owen Swanson did most of the damage at the plate: Dameron went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Swanson scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That home run marked the first that Dameron launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Kenast, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Deltona's record now sits at 10-14. As for Winter Springs, their record is now 22-4.
Deltona suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Winter Springs when the teams last played back in February. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
