Basketball Recap: Braylon Fuller's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mead Hall Episcopal School over Jefferson Davis Academy

Mead Hall Episcopal School lost against Jefferson Davis Academy back in November of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mead Hall Episcopal School Panthers fell to the Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders 40-36. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 10-5 in the first quarter.

Mead Hall Episcopal School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylon Fuller, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds. With that strong performance, Fuller is now averaging an impressive 9.5 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Weidenman, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Leading Jefferson Davis Academy to victory were Nasir Void and Reece Still. Void dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Still went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Void a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Corbin Perry, who put up eight points.

Mead Hall Episcopal School's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Mead Hall Episcopal School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-35 defeat against Westminster Schools of Augusta on the 13th. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-48 loss against Holly Hill Academy on the 13th.
