Downey won the last time they faced Amador Valley and things went their way  on Friday too. The Knights walked away with  a   40-28  victory over the Dons.
Leading Downey to victory were  Julian Masaniai and  Elias Haynes.  Masaniai threw for 250 yards and a pair of  touchdowns, while  Haynes gained 164 total yards and three touchdowns.
 Downey was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 273  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 169  rushing yards in three consecutive  matches.
 Amador Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Vincent Maiorana, who rushed for 129 yards and two  scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 80 receiving yards and one  TD. Maiorana showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 50 yards.  Anthony Harrington was another key player, picking up 253 receiving yards and one  touchdown.
The  win  got Downey back to even at 2-2. As for Amador Valley,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
 Downey wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  48-40  loss against Edison on the 19th. As for Amador Valley, they have also already played their next game,  a  28-20  defeat against Liberty on the 19th.
