Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Scottsdale Preparatory Academy). They took their  game  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  55-6 victory over the Cortez Colts. The  contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  41-6.
A big part of Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's  win came down to the chemistry between  Will Ryken and his top target  Jackson Larson. Ryken rushed for 80 yards and three  TDs on only six carries while  Larson rushed for 120 yards and one  score on only eight carries. Ryken is becoming a predictor of Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's success: when he posts  at  least two  rushing touchdowns the team is 4-2 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).  George Brannan was in the mix  too, providing the Spartans with one touchdown.
 Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 259  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cortez only  rushed for 142.
 Special teams  played a big role in the game for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of  Ryken, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 27.8 points over those games. As for Cortez, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
 Coming up, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will challenge Parker at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Broncs' defense has only allowed 13.3  points per game  this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them. Cortez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
