Summit has gone a perfect 10-0 against Eagle Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Devils at 9:00 a.m. Summit is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Summit is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Glenwood Springs just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Demons by a score of 4-3.

Sam Eldredge put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.
Eldredge wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jojo Gambino, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Eagle Valley waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Thunder with a sharp 16-1 victory. That looming 16-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Devils yet this season.
Like Summit, Eagle Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Jackson Woodworth. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Woodworth was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Eagle Valley is undefeated when Woodworth posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Colter Blakey was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Anthony Ehlert was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Eagle Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Eagle Valley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Summit, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Summit has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eagle Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Summit took their win against Eagle Valley in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
