Even though the Wilson Hall Barons have not done well against the Florence Christian Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Wilson Hall enjoyed a cozy 41-24 win over Florence Christian. That's two games straight that Wilson Hall has won by exactly 17 points.
Despite the loss, Florence Christian saw an underclassman step up: Emerson Poston scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Poston scored a full 37.5% of Florence Christian's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The win (which was Wilson Hall's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. As for Florence Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson Hall will challenge Carolina Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Florence Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Dillon Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Dillon Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
