The Pebble Hills Spartans had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Little Elm 55-53. The victory was all the more spectacular given Pebble Hills' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Little Elm is ranked 27th).
Jordan Sapien was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with 7 assists and 7 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Andromeda Weregwe, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Little Elm lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shiloh Kimpson. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points. The contest was Kimpson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Raniyah Hunt was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Pebble Hills' win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Little Elm, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pebble Hills will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Mesquite at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Little Elm, they will challenge McKinney North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Kaelyn Hamilton and Madison Martin.
