Make it five blowout wins for the Bland County Bears this season. They blew past Grayson County 68-37 on the road. The win was some much needed relief for Bland County as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading Bland County to victory were Tinley Worley and Danielle Sanders. Worley scored 28 points along with four steals, while Sanders dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 14 blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Worley has scored at least a third of Bland County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailee Thompson, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Bland County's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. As for Grayson County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bland County will take on Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grayson County, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on George Wythe at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. George Wythe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Grayson County in Virginia (George Wythe is ranked 65th, while Grayson County is ranked 271st).
