Basketball Game Preview: Tucson High Magnet School Badgers vs. Rangeview Raiders

Having just played yesterday, the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers will jump right back in to play the Rangeview Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Rangeview is hoping to do what Arizona College Prep couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Tucson High Magnet School's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Tucson High Magnet School blew past Arizona College Prep, posting a 61-28 victory. Given the Badgers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Knights are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tucson High Magnet School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adam Armadillo led the charge by putting up seven points in addition to five boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Armadillo a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was D'Aundray Brown, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Rangeview put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 67-55 win over Sahuaro.

Tucson High Magnet School better keep an eye on Archie Weatherspoon V. He was instrumental in Rangeview's win, going 10 of 15 on his way to 29 points and six rebounds. With that strong performance, Weatherspoon V is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Marceles Duncan, who put up ten points.

Rangeview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Tucson High Magnet School's record is now 9-1. As for Rangeview, their record now sits at 6-0.
