The Aberdeen Eagles pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of C. Milton Wright. While losing is never fun, Aberdeen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while C. Milton Wright is ranked 33rd).
Despite the loss, Aberdeen still got an impressive performance from DARION PARRIS, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and ten rebounds. PARRIS is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was JOMAR CAMACHO, who scored 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead C. Milton Wright to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cayne Woodland, who went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 5 assists. Dylan Sander was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Aberdeen has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for C. Milton Wright, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aberdeen's road trip will continue as they head out to face Caravel on January 27th. As for C. Milton Wright, they will challenge North Harford at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. North Harford has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
