Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Clovis West Golden Eagles walked away with it. They came out on top against Hanford by a score of 42-30 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Clovis West as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Tyler Patrick was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 290 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. Steven Macias and his 89 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Clovis West's win.
Clovis West's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Leading the way was Tytus Khajavi and his 5.5 sacks.
Hanford's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kourdey Glass, who gained 81 total yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for four yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.
Clovis West now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hanford, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Clovis West will head out on the road to face off against Clovis North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clovis North will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Hanford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
