Monte Vista Christian won the last time they faced Santa Cruz and things went their way  on Monday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp  15-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven games by ten  runs or more  so far this season.
 Gianna Johnson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those  six  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. That  triple was  her first of the season.
 In other batting news, Monte Vista Christian got a  massive  performance out of  Kayla Fullalove-Silveira, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Fullalove-Silveira has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  home run the last three times she's  played.  Samantha Bertoldi was another key player,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and three  runs.
 Monte Vista Christian  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .606. They are 6-2 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Monte Vista Christian's record is now 10-13. As for Santa Cruz, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record  this season.
