Sebring is 7-1 against Clewiston since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Sebring Blue Streaks will challenge the Clewiston Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Sebring will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Sebring saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Hardee.
Coby Moesching made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. Moesching was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also put up an RBI, which washis first of the season.
Moesching wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Todd, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Todd posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another was Blayne Humphrey, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Clewiston never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Pahokee 18-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Like Sebring, Clewiston also got a great game from a two-way player: Jacob Izaguirre. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Izaguirre was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
In other batting news, Ethan Casas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Clayton Sparks was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Sebring's record is now 3-1. As for Clewiston, their record is now 3-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sebring has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clewiston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Sebring was able to grind out a solid win over Clewiston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sebring since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
