Pittsburg has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Liberty Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pittsburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 23 matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, Pittsburg gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Antioch 87-54 at home. Given Pittsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Antioch is ranked 582nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kayshaun Hunte and Jeremiah Collins were among the main playmakers for Pittsburg as the former scored 15 points and the latter scored 17 points. Tyberius Campos-Reece was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Liberty had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.9 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They blew past Heritage, posting a 60-25 win at home. Liberty has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Pittsburg's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.
Pittsburg came up short against Liberty in their previous matchup on Tuesday, falling 62-58. Can Pittsburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
