Volleyball Recap: Sauk Prairie's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Sauk Prairie unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Edgewood Crusaders. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Sauk Prairie was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 27-25.

Mallory Hartwig paced Sauk Prairie's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hartwig got some help from Leah Allen and her 12 assists.

Sauk Prairie's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 24-4. As for Edgewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Sauk Prairie has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Portage on the 11th. As for Edgewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Mount Horeb on the 11th.
