The Hamilton County Foxes are taking a road trip to take on the Edwards County Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton County has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Hamilton County lost 13-4 to Trigg County on Saturday. The Foxes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kelsie Ashcraft and Colebie Miller did some serious damage despite the final result: Ashcraft went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Miller went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Edwards County had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Titans a 7-0 shutout. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Allison Groff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Groff was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

Edwards County's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Hamilton County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Edwards County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.3 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Hamilton County skirted past Edwards County 4-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Foxes repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
