The Indian Land Warriors will take on the Clover Blue Eagles at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Indian Land's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
Indian Land will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Catawba Ridge, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Indian Land came out on top against Catawba Ridge by a score of 63-53 on Tuesday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Copperheads are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
02/04/25 @ Catawba Ridge | 5 |
01/13/24 vs East Rutherford | 5 |
01/29/25 vs Northwestern | 4 |
01/14/25 @ Clover | 4 |
01/28/25 @ Rock Hill | 3 |
Indian Land's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sequel Patterson, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 17 points and five assists. That's the most assists Patterson has posted since back in January of 2024. Michael Jones was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clover, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down Northwestern 55-40 on Friday.
Indian Land better focus on containing Ashtin Feemster and Owen Galeota as the pair were huge in Clover's win. Feemster posted 13 points, while Galeota went 5 for 6 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Carson Pinti, who scored four points and four steals.
Indian Land's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Clover, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Indian Land has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Clover struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Indian Land was able to grind out a solid victory over Clover in their previous matchup back in January, winning 52-41. Does Indian Land have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
