The Hayward Farmers are taking a road trip to  face off against the Moreau Catholic Mariners  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Hayward fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Redwood Christian  on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of  5-4. The Farmers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Adrian Duran spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned  (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Ryland Bueno was cooking despite his team's loss,   getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  double and one  RBI.  Iker Coto Zammudio was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-5.
 Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Moreau Catholic's offense. They took  a  4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Leandro on Wednesday.
 Moreau Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hayward, they now  have a losing record of 1-2.
 Hayward suffered a grim  11-1 defeat to Moreau Catholic  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024. Can Hayward avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
