The Pembroke Hill Raiders will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Rockhurst Hawklets at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Pembroke Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Rockhurst is ranked 87th).
Pembroke Hill's 23-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 55-47 to Olathe South last Saturday.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 27-27 at halftime, Rockhurst was not quite Lee's Summit North's equal in the second half on Friday. Rockhurst took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lee's Summit North. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rockhurst's loss came about despite a quality game from Brady Maher, who scored 11 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Maher grabbed two or more steals. Maxwell Moylan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Pembroke Hill has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Rockhurst's record now sits at 8-6.
Pembroke Hill beat Rockhurst 54-42 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pembroke Hill since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
