The Ontario Warriors fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Highland Fighting Scots on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 46-40 defeat to they. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Highland apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Highland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie Mullins, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Bellamy, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Ontario's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-7. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Ontario will be playing in front of their home fans against River Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Highland, they will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
