Centennial had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-4 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Aurora Huskies, sneaking past 12-10. The high-scoring effort was just what the Broncos needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Anna Warm, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Madisyn Shufeldt also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
As for Aurora, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since August 23, 2024.
On Aurora's side, Josie Fink spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Fink.
On the hitting side, Vivi Fahrnbruch made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Ashlyn Kottwitz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Coming up, Centennial will square off against Syracuse on Thursday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.43 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Aurora, they will take on York at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dukes have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
