The Sonora Raiders can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fullerton 61-31 at home. The victory was just what Sonora needed coming off of a 57-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Sonora's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samantha Wilson led the charge by scoring 15 points along with three steals. Wilson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiana Graham, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Sonora's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Fullerton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonora won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Whitney at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Whitney has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 365 points over their last five matches. As for Fullerton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against La Habra at 5:30 p.m. La Habra presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fullerton in California (La Habra is ranked 217th, while Fullerton is ranked 578th).
