Football Recap: Ruth Robison Leads Palo Verde's Defense on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Desert Oasis, Palo Verde was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Green Valley Gators a 20-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Samantha Manzo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 100 yards. That's the most rushing yards she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Palo Verde didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ruth Robison, Madeline West, Teja Bagley, and Arden Petkewich picked up one apiece.

Palo Verde pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for Green Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Palo Verde Panthers duke it out with the Las Vegas Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Green Valley, they will welcome Canyon Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
