The Riverside Ram's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Lightridge on the road and fell 37-7.
Nate Sullivan threw for 70 yards and a touchdown. Jeremy McCloud was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Ed Abbott gained 62 total yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lightridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Working, who threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns. Dominic Gentrup made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Riverside's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Lightridge, Briar Woods, and Loudoun County. As for Lightridge, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Riverside will look to defend their home field on Friday against Stone Bridge at 7:00 p.m. Stone Bridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Riverside in Virginia (Stone Bridge is ranked 21st, while Riverside is ranked 161st). As for Lightridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Potomac Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
