Softball Recap: First Baptist Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

First Baptist strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the Burton Adventist Academy Angels as they made off with a 15-4 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-1 on Monday.

Allison Munnerlyn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Camila Rodriguez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing eight bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Kolbie Gillispie was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

First Baptist kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

First Baptist's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Burton Adventist Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
