Softball Recap: Godinez Fundamental's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Godinez Fundamental, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Everything went their way against the Century Centurions on Tuesday as the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies made off with a 13-3 win. The Grizzlies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Godinez Fundamental got a big performance out of Clarissa Rubio, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs Rubio has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Priscilla Tlilayatzi, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

With the victory, Godinez Fundamental broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4. As for Century, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Godinez Fundamental will venture away from home to challenge University at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Century, they are taking a road trip to square off against Magnolia at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
