Softball Recap: Brookville Gets the Win

Brookville was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Dixie Greyhounds by a score of 6-3. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won four in a row.

Rylan Eagle was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, Ella Nutter was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Maya Haydon, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Brookville's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Dixie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookville will challenge West Carrollton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dixie, they will square off against Valley View at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
