Two dominant guards in Camden Webster and Savon Miles are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Kankakee Valley Kougars will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Griffith Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on December 27th. Kankakee Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Griffith likes a good challenge.
Kankakee Valley pushed their score all the way to 56 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between Kankakee Valley and Andrean wasn't particularly close, with Kankakee Valley falling 73-56. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kankakee Valley has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Kankakee Valley had strong showings from Brady Sampson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds, and Bobby Lalonde, who scored 17 points. The contest was Sampson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Jones, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Griffith had to suffer through a rough 84-50 loss at the hands of Rich Township.
Kankakee Valley's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-3. As for Griffith, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Kankakee Valley against Griffith in their previous meeting back in December of 2020 as the squad secured a 77-35 victory. With Kankakee Valley ahead 42-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.
