Baseball Recap: Newfound Regional Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newfound Regional extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 3-0 in the process. They walked away with a 16-11 win over the Inter-Lakes Lakers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

As for Inter-Lakes, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. Even if they couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

For Inter-Lakes' part, Connor Brunt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Danny Bean was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newfound Regional will head out to square off against Hillsboro-Deering at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Inter-Lakes, they will venture away from home to challenge Winnisquam at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
