Basketball Recap: Myana Fore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Westminster Catawba Christian over Metrolina Christian Academy

Westminster Catawba Christian lost against Metrolina Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Westminster Catawba Christian Indians took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors.

Westminster Catawba Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Myana Fore, who posted 20 points along with six steals and five assists. That's the most assists Fore has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Sherer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Westminster Catawba Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Metrolina Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily King led the charge by going 9 of 19 en route to 24 points in addition to six boards and six steals. The game was King's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Hayden Goodwin was another key player, going 8 for 14 on her way to 18 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.

Westminster Catawba Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-10. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their record is now 12-8.

Westminster Catawba Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Gaston Day at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they will square off against SouthLake Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Metrolina Christian Academy is facing SouthLake Christian Academy at the right time seeing as SouthLake Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
