Davenport is 1-0 against Lampasas since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Davenport Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Lampasas Badgers at 7:30 p.m. Davenport has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 266 points over their last five games.
Last Friday, Davenport blew past Canyon Lake, posting a 70-13 win at home. The result was nothing new for Davenport, who have now won four matches by 27 points or more so far this season.
Davenport's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Triston Hamlin, who threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes. Emmet Greiman also helped out with an impressive 102 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Lampasas didn't have too much trouble with Taylor on the road on Friday as they won 43-24. Given Lampasas' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Taylor is ranked 455th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Davenport to 5-2 and Lampasas to 6-1.
Davenport took their win against Lampasas when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 55-34. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lampasas' David Flores, who threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Davenport to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
