The North Springs Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Chattahoochee Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Chattahoochee is ranked 65th).
North Springs fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against Cambridge by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.
It was another big night for Esmer Madesko, who scored 23 points along with four steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of North Springs' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Harris, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chattahoochee earned a 64-51 victory over Centennial on Tuesday.
North Springs pushed their record up to 8-16 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Chattahoochee, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Things could have been worse for North Springs, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-42 loss to Chattahoochee in their previous matchup back in January. Can North Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
