The Rio Vista Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Worth Bullfrogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Rio Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday.
Rio Vista can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game. They strolled past Axtell with points to spare, taking the game 35-19. Rio Vista's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rio Vista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shiloh Johnson, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Johnson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Madison Cook was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lake Worth's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. The game between Lake Worth and Trinity Christian wasn't particularly close, with Lake Worth falling 43-24.
Rio Vista's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Lake Worth, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
Rio Vista was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Worth in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 41-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rio Vista since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
