The Dayspring Academy Shires can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on Hendersonville Christian Academy with a sharp 48-26 win. The victory was just what Dayspring Academy needed coming off of a 77-29 loss in their prior contest.
John-Michael Martin was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 25 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Dayspring Academy's points.
Hendersonville Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Roy, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade White, who scored eight points.
Dayspring Academy pushed their record up to 6-13 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.33 points. As for Hendersonville Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dayspring Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Agathos Classical at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Hendersonville Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Currey Ingram Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Currey Ingram Academy is ranked 433rd, while Hendersonville Christian Academy is ranked 424th).
