Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Needles). Everything went their way against the GV Christian Guardians on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-1 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Holden Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Gabe Rodriquez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was JD Lusk, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.

Needles hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Needles' win bumped their record up to 17-8-1. As for GV Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Looking ahead, Needles will be playing at home against Williams at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for GV Christian, they will challenge Awaken Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
