Sam Houston is 1-8-1 against Burbank since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sam Houston Hurricanes are on the road again and plays the Burbank Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th.
Sam Houston fell victim to Jefferson's stalwart defense on Tuesday and couldn't make it onto the board. Their tough 12-0 defeat to the Mustangs might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sam Houston in their matchups with Jefferson: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Burbank sidestepped Brackenridge for a 2-1 victory. The victory was just what Burbank needed coming off of a 3-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Sam Houston's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Burbank, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Sam Houston might still be hurting after the 7-4 loss they got from Burbank when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Sam Houston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
