Baseball Recap: Cordova Has No Trouble Against Galt

Cordova waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Galt Warriors with a sharp 11-1 victory. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Lancers this season.

The team relied heavily on Gabriel Bargas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bro Ahlstrom, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Cordova was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

The win got Cordova back to even at 3-3-1. As for Galt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cordova will host McClatchy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McClatchy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Cordova's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Galt, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Rosemont at 4:00 p.m. Galt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.
