The biggest upset of the week belonged to Waynesfield-Goshen, who took down 278th ranked Fort Loramie, 28-20. Miller Garret threw for 129 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 15 yards in the win.
Ridgemont's Timmy Cowan rumbled for the longest rushing play in Northwest Central this season in his game against Upper Scioto Valley last week. Cowan scampered for 58 yards on the play and finished with 75 on the day as his team bested the Rams.
The Tigers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Gabe Hennon chipped in 165 yards. O'Leary Eli helped Waynesfield-Goshen's passing attack out by catching four balls for 54 yards.
Lee Turner was the best wideout in the league this week as Waynesfield-Goshen beat the Redskins. Turner racked up three receptions for 57 yards.
Tyler Tillman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Ridgemont bested Upper Scioto Valley. He completed five passes for 95 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 121 yards. Tillman's favorite target this week was Corey Eversole, who caught two passes for 55 yards.
Fairbanks's Hunter Burnett and Phillip Gibson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Burnett has thrown for 687 yards this season, while Gibson, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 22 catches for 396 yards. Delaunte Thornton from Fort Loramie leads the league in rushing with 688 yards.
A big matchup in Northwest Central this week will be when Gary Spencer's team takes on Lehman Catholic. The Tigers are in second place, while the Cavaliers are in fourth place.
Lehman Catholic moved up to 434 from 560 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cavaliers were able to make the jump by beating Riverside 45-0.
