The Crossland Cavaliers lost against the Surrattsville Hornets back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Crossland had to suffer through a rough 74-3 loss at the hands of Surrattsville. Crossland has not had much luck with Surrattsville recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Patrice Augustus was Crossland's leading scorer, having posted two points.
It was another big night for Nadia Simpson, who scored 23 points for Surrattsville. Simpson hasn't dropped below 19 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Parker, who scored 14 points.
Crossland dropped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Surrattsville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crossland will take on Largo at TBD on Tuesday. Largo's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Crossland's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Surrattsville, they will play host again and welcome Central, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Samiyah Gibson and Simpson.
