The Concord Christian Lions lost against the King's Academy Lions back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Concord Christian suffered a tough 74-49 defeat at the hands of King's Academy. While losing is never fun, Concord Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while King's Academy is ranked 29th).
Brady Branam was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 19 rebounds for King's Academy. The contest was Branam's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Walden, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 assists.
Concord Christian now has a losing record at 3-4. As for King's Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Concord Christian will head out on the road to face off against Providence Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Academy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. King's Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Knoxville Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Knoxville Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday.
