On Wednesday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, St. Mary's made off with a 63-62 victory over Lodi. The win was just what St. Mary's needed coming off of a 80-57 loss in their prior game.
St. Mary's had a senior duo take command as Cayden Ward dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds and Daniel Huerta scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Huerta is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivan Huerta, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Tracy with a sharp 79-58 victory. Given Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Tracy is ranked 700th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Mary's is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Lincoln, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-5.
